Transition Offense & DrillsCoach White begins by covering roles within their transition offense and the concepts and expectations for each player. Concepts covered include when to have your big rim run or set a drag screen, the best area to outlet when starting the break, and perimeter players running to the corners.Next, several drills are shown to help you teach your team to play fast and aggressive. White shows how to add more difficulty and objectives for the common three-man weave, as well as two different variations of a transition shooting drill. Full Court Threes 180 & 140 will get your whole team running and involved in working on transition jumpers, layups, and threes. The Mincy Drill brings the concepts together for 35 seconds, as each player must score off different actions within their transition offense. Finishing off the segment, Coach White shows a continuous disadvantage build up drill to work on reading and attacking the defense in transition while the offense has an extra player.Half-Court Man-to-Man OffenseFollowing the same pattern, White shows some of his favorite fundamental drills to prepare his players for half-court offensive execution. Passing, pivoting, and shot preparation are all covered as the fundamentals are stressed. You'll get the offensive concepts that make up Coach White's 4-out, 1-in man-to-man offense. He discusses screens and different cuts off the screen for the cutter and screener in a 3-on-0 setting. While teaching 3-on-0, White puts in pin down and flare screens as well as basket cuts that can be performed within their offense. From there, he builds up to 4-on-0 and 5-on-0, including dribble penetration concepts and back screens from the post to the perimeter that can lead to 5-out offense. Adding five defenders, you will get to see the whole offense and how the actions and reads apply. Coach White also briefly discusses two actions out of their 5-out offense with Split Strong and Split Weak. This video will help you no matter what offense you run. As the game becomes more and more about "position-less" offense, coaches will glean insight and concepts into how to implement that style of play with Coach White's man-to-man offense!
