FAST BREAK OFFENSE
One of the toughest things to do on defense is to get back on transition. See how Pearl and his team put as much "pressure on the rim" as possible. Pearl teaches the fast break using breakdown drills and shares several of the options his players have on the offensive end of the court. He also emphasizes taking smart shots and trusting your teammates to rebound. This philosophy has helped Tennessee become one of the best offensive rebounding teams in the country.

PRESSURE DEFENSE
If you want to have freedom on the fast break, you need to create possessions on defense. Coach Pearl does this by using full-court pressure. He breaks down his defense starting with ball entry and emphasizing deflections and trapping.
